Hi, everyone I have a low eGFR reading doctors say its stable, but have never mentioned kidney disease. The more I read into it I’m sure I have it. It is stressing me out so much I can’t sleep at night. I always seem to have foam in my pee. If I’m not in that category I would like to know if there is anything I can take or do to preserve what I have left.
I am Male 56 years old. All these test results confuse the hell out of me.
Yes, that helps. A drop of 1 over 6-7 years is not anything to worry and lose sleep over.
When mine was around your limit, my consultant said it was “mildly interesting” and to monitor it. I had only been referred after a medical found higher protein levels in my pee.
I was around the mid-high 50’s in 2019 as well, and then it dropped at times dramatically, sometimes plateaued, all depending on the meds that were added.
I’m now egfr 13 and creatinine at 407.
On paper, you look ok, there is probably some monitoring over the coming years and for them to check your bloods every year maybe (or every 6 Months) but on the figures there, you may have a mild kidney issue but it wouldn’t appear at the moment, to be a worry and something that’s dropping heavily.
Egfr around 60 will keep you well for a fair few years yet
Thank you for taking the time to reply to me and put my mind at rest. I was on ppi’s for two decades I know there bad for the body, but not sure if it is lasting damage. eGRF 13 Wow. Hope it can climb back up for you Take care pal.
Unfortunately, mines not going to get better until I have a transplant, which is now off the cards for 2-3 years as I was diagnosed with cancer separately elsewhere last week.
So I am being prepped for dialysis and the ops in the coming weeks
