Worried about my blood test results

Hi,

I went for my yearly MOT with my GP back in January and he was concerned that my kidneys were not functioning as they should. My Serum Creatinine level is at 141 and my eGFR is 45. He asked me to take another blood test so I went to the GP surgery and had some more blood taken. The test results come back and now my Creatinine level is 147 and my eGFR is 43.

Should I contact my GP for an appointment or will he contact me?

Also he put a comment (mab1) normal for patient. The research I did my levels are not normal so I am now confused and worried.

Thanks in advance,

Gordy.

Hello Gordy , Welcome to our forum. A lt of EGFr results can be affected by hydration. Make sure you are drinking 1.5 litres of fluid every day. Being dehydrated can also cause blood pressure issues. Whatever my results say, my GP just puts 'Abnormal but expected ’ on my records and never mentions anything to me personally. I guess I am a liability financially now. Best wishes B

Yes contact GP to discuss.. sometimes they don’t offer enough support if you are at early stages. But you need to know how to look after yourself. Yep don’t wait for them.. book an appt to discuss. Sorry your going through this.. but you will get advice to direct you. Let’s us know how it goes. My gp sent me this information Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD): Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment
