Severe itching

Hi all. I have had severe itching for a while now. I have recently been diagnosed with stage 3 CKD and I have been taking Zomorph for arthritis pain for 5 years. I am slowly being taken off Zomorph. Has anyone else had severe itching? I find the only thing that stops it are applying ice packs

Thanks for sharing your experience. Itching can be incredibly difficult to cope with!

While we can’t provide medical advice here on Kidney Community, there may be other members who have experienced itching alongside CKD and can share what has helped them manage it. Another Kidney Community member, @BLMM , recently posted about their husband is experiencing severe itching as well, in case it helps to connect and share experiences.

Hi, I had bad itching on my hands, wrists and ankle areas when I went through stage 3-4, but whether it was the medication or just a stage of the process I don’t know, but it passed after about 2 years and apart from an odd occasion, it’s been fine for several years now

I hope it settles down for you as I know it isn’t pleasant
