New here! I was diagnosed aged 50 with kidney cancer, found due to checks on a degenerative lower spine issue in 2021 - with a full nephrectomy following close behind due to tumour size.
In 2024, after 2 clear years, on my 3rd annual follow-up, they found it in my remaining kidney !
I am currently monitored by an oncologist at Guys with a view to going on TKI medication soon.
To add to my luck a biopsy has just found a malignant tumour in one breast … Somebody really doesn’t like me !
It’s difficult to explain all the sad, lonely Feelings these conditions put you through when you’ve been active, healthy and don’t see it coming !Happy to chat to any other ‘anomalies’ out there …!
I would firstly say I’m sorry to hear your devastating news, what a blow you’re dealing with.
I know this message finds you on a good day, I know when you get down days you feel like “why me what have I done” but honestly I think everyone will agree with me that we all feel like that and would love to know the answer to that question. It’s not fair but unfortunately it does happen to the best of us.

My best friend passed away last year she was only the same age as me I’m now 54 years old, she had CKD and a daughter she went to high school and now lives with her aunty. I was devastated when she passed we grow up together, went to infant school together and grow together she was a neighbour too. Her mum and dad lived up the road from us as a family. When she passed her mum passed away just 3 months after, her mum died of a broken heart.
The memories always help you get through each day, but you will have good days and bad.
