What helps you get a better night’s sleep?

Sleep can be a real challenge when you’re living with kidney disease. Whether that’s struggling to fall asleep, waking up during the night or just not feeling rested.

We’d love to hear what actually works for you

Oh my goodness this is something that I’ve actually been struggling with alot the last year. My gp has referred me to a sleep clinic I’ve been so exhausted.

I find using a pillow spray helps. The one by ‘This Works’ is excellent but expensive. The best cheap alternative I’ve found is ‘nature love’ one.

Also listening to an audio book depending on the reader. I find Steven Fry’s voice relaxing.:rofl:

I’m not sure about recommending this but worth a try . I’m having a Trip drink most evenings and I sleep really well when I do. Some have cbd ( 10mg ) and some have lions mane and magnesium and other botanicals including camomile . I’m a recently diagnosed stage3a . You can buy the drinks in most supermarkets (£6-50 for 4 ) .

Since diagnosis in April I’ve been left by my gp with no information and no kidney team etc so I’m doing my own thing using Google . Please check with your team if the drinks ok for you according to your stage. But bear in mind your GP is not allowed to recommend drinks with cbd. You may be able to have the lions mane / magnesium ? There are stronger drinks around. Trip drinks are mild .
