Hello All. Like a lot of people at Stage 4 , I get back pain, itchy skin, the wobbles , joint pain and the build up of toxins. with the resultant problems and restrictive diet etc, etc. What symptoms did you have that Dialysis cured or made easier to live with , and what became worse other than the travelling etc. Thanks. Best wishes to all B
For my husband dialysis greatly reduced his itching & cramps. His mood for the most part has lifted, nausea reduced and appetite improved. He didn’t realise how poorly he felt pre dialysis until about 2 months after starting it.
Thanks for that reply., it is greatly appreciated.
Regarding the Next Phase and Your Journey Toward Recovery
"I want to share that you are currently approaching the final stages before beginning dialysis. It is natural to experience certain symptoms at this point, as your kidney function is at approximately 15%. During this period, following a strict renal diet is crucial to avoid heavy meals and prevent the buildup of toxins and minerals in your blood.
I want to reassure you that these distressing symptoms will subside once you start your dialysis sessions. By sticking to your dietary plan, you will see a significant and steady improvement in your overall health. While managing blood pressure remains the primary challenge for most dialysis patients, with persistence and careful adherence to medical advice, you will overcome this and move toward a much better state of well-being
Hi Beanbag, it’s interesting reading your last post. I frequently get the wobble and try to hide it from my husband. He would constantly have me at the doctors. At least there is a reason for my wobbles as well as everything else. I’m stage 4 and waiting for an appointment at the renal I it.
Thanks Christine. I was interested in how many /if any of the symptoms that we currently have are flushed out by dialysis. There are days when things become quite unbearable and it seems that dialysis may be the ‘light at the end of the tunnel’. I guess we only really know when we get there as we are all different . It is a funny statement to make, but who could imagine thinking dialysis, bring it on ! Best wishes B
You shouldn’t hide anything from your husband. This is a big mistake, and I don’t advise you to do that. As for the dizziness, you should tell the doctor and have your blood pressure checked and monitored continuously, and tell your husband about it as well. The later stages of the disease are dangerous, and dialysis is a mercy, not a torment.
