Hi. I came to this site because I have kidney disease. I am unable to take the normal tablets kidney person takes because they tested to see if my body was able to take those tablets, but they discovered i have a gene missing that would help to brake down the tablets, so all I am on is water tablets, and ramipril for blood pressure..
I’m going to be slightly dull here, but do you mind me asking what the “normal tablets” specficially for kidney problems patients take?
I take multiple medications including pain patches and oral breakthrough pain medication, Metformin for Blood sugar providing my egfr remains above 30, and Iron unfusions, Biologics for my eczema - the two medications I had to stop were Dapagliflozin and Ramipril - the first one after I had Sepsis, then a year later, acute pancreatitis and my kidneys failed completely so was on dialysis for a month, was inbetween where it interacted with an antibiotic I was given on discharge from Sepsis, which landed me with an insane Potassium level of 7.7
Dapagliflozin is very good for kidney patients as is Ramipril - but they are not specifically for the condition - one is for diabetes, the other for blood pressure. I’m now on low dose Bisoprolol because by BP started dropping way too low.
