This week marks Organ Donation Week 2026, at a time where the waiting list for a kidney has never been higher. The week is an opportunity to raise awareness of kidney donation and the life-changing benefits it can offer someone on the transplant waiting list.

Kidney Research UK has partnered Give a Kidney as part of the Robert Dangoor Partnership for Living Kidney Donation, which aims to raise awareness of living kidney donation and offers support for anyone considering donating a kidney. The partnership shares the stories and experiences of people who have received a living kidney donation, to help raise awareness of the incredible benefits it offers.

The partnership also runs the UK Living Kidney Donation Buddy Support Service for anyone considering donating a kidney. This is a peer to peer service that offers a secure and safe place for open conversations with someone who understands that journey and can talk about their own experiences.
