You shouldn’t use online sheets because what’s in your diet may not be in mine or vice versa. You need a renal dietician.

UTIs may be isolated in fairness, as I am stage 5, diagnosed around 15 years ago at stage 3, and haven’t had a UTI in that time
That isn’t to say it’s not a good idea to be aware of symptoms, but I wouldn’t blanket it as someone is to be more susceptible

Hi

I’m about same as you, didn’t know mine had been deteriorating over the years, GP’s didn’t tell me until it got to 48 and now trying to stem any further deterioration. Also have had high blood pressure for more than 35years. Most recent results was 58, hopefully because changes I have made most importantly keeping well hydrated and watching what I eat more carefully. I read someone else on here talked about attending classes which I think would be crucial to help us understand CKD and what we could do to help reduce any further deterioration as well as meet other people in similar circumstances. I’ve got a CKD Teams meeting online soon so will see how this goes

Hey all, good to be signed up with you all. I have been diagnosed with stage 3B last year. The dr told me there is nothing to worry about and didn’t give me any advice etc. I’m having to do my own research and thankfully I have. I’m still clueless about what I can and cannot eat. I have requested to be referred to the specialist team which I have an appointment in December 2026.

I don’t have any other health issues at present apart from arthritis in the knees and high blood pressure which I’m on meds for. Any tips & advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks X

Hello,

Like others above, I have also just been advised by my GP that a blood test showed I have CKD. I was given a link to further info which didn’t work! This came as a bit of a shock because I had a Renal blood test in July 2026 that showed Normal results. I’m rather surprised that the NHS don’t provide an info sheet that can be handed out routinely after diagnosis. Regarding limiting the intake of potassium, is there a really useful website or info sheet that can be a guide? Thanks for any advice.

I am in the same boat, was told to continue as I have been doing. No mention about changing diet and to continue as I have been doing.

I have cysts on my kidneys too but if I’m honest I don’t know why or what this means.

I have been told I am stage 3B.

good luck 🤞 💜

Hey Jem

I’m with the renal specialist team, my results got sent to me today, very positive by all accounts. I have a follow up 10th Dec but looking unlikely I will require a long term plan. I just need to keep doing what I have been doing

Hi me again ive had bloods done again egfr was up from 35 lowest now 42. Going in right direction. I had symptoms like uti but urine just had blood and white cells. No infection. Im seeing urologist end of oct. Im seeing nephrologist 4th nov. Then on 1st oct i passed a stone. Gp didnt even want to see it or send off for analysis. So the symptoms stopped which is great. I have cut out salt and do look to see if items of food contain salt. I do need to drink more i have half cups of tea not a water drinker need to make an effort.
