What are the best and worst things about peritoneal dialysis at home? How well does it fit around your life? Do you dialyse to live, or live to dialyse?

Dialyse to live and work. Where possible it is important to manage the kidney issue and not let it control your life.

Thanks so much for sharing this @Jock! That’s such an important mindset, focusing on managing your condition rather than letting it take over your life.

How have you found balancing dialysis with work day to day? Has anything in particular helped you make it fit around your routine?

Fortunate to have a transplant now. When on PD, did this overnight to enable me to work during the day and get on with life. So far so good. Important to stay positive be sensible about diet and mobile.

I was on PD Dialysis for exactly a year but in the beginning i had lot of alarms trying to sleep as my catheter pipe would get pressed against my body, but eventually i got the hang of it than suddenly i had peritoneal infection & ended up in hospital for 12 days where the catheter had to be removed and noe i have a lin on my neck where my hemodialysis is done.Waitinh for a fistula to be inserted when I can sstart my dialysis from fistula.
