Today, we launched the latest chapter of our [By Your Side](https://www.kidneyresearchuk.org/by-your-side/) campaign: [Kidneys Unfiltered](https://www.kidneyresearchuk.org/kidney-health-information/kidneys-unfiltered/), a powerful new video series sharing real, unfiltered conversations about life with kidney disease.

Featuring people from across the kidney community and their loved ones, the series explores the realities of life as a patient, carer, parent and partner with honesty, warmth and openness. From Spudman and his wife discussing the challenges of balancing caring responsibilities, to Johanna and her husband talking candidly about the impact of kidney disease on their relationship, every story offers a unique perspective.

Different experiences, one shared truth: honest conversations that many people affected by kidney disease will recognise. [Watch Kidneys Unfiltered now on our YouTube channel and social media platforms](https://www.youtube.com/@KidneyResearchUK/featured).

It can be hard to talk about what life is really like with kidney disease, but Kidney Community is your safe space to speak freely.

How do you have these conversations and what tips would you give to someone having them for the first time?

It would be great to hear what others in the community thought of the videos and if anything resonated with you. 💜

I don’t think I can understand really what’s going on with my situation at times and I feel normal, despite being at the point I am, and because I’m constantly being told, you look really well, I don’t think I’m ill

But I’m exhausted, feel nauseous quite often and am often quite scared of what the future holds.

I watched the first of these again on Wednesday and was in tears again afterwards.

I am trying to keep it normal for my family, but it’s really hard at times

Bless you, @Chalky13. It can be hard but having those conversations can really help. Maybe sharing one of the videos with those around you might make it easier for them to understand.
